Duff now turns his focus to Thursday’s trip to a Zurich side who opened their domestic season with a win on Saturday.
He said: “Back in Europe again now and a really tough task, but one that we are relishing.
“They played Saturday and won 2-0. I haven’t got access to that yet, though I’ve had eyes over a couple of games from last season.
“They are a massive club with a lot of quality in the team. If that doesn’t excite you, I don’t know what will. But I’ll back us against anyone.
“So we are going over there and over the two legs we absolutely believe we can get through.”
But Duff expects it to be a rearguard action, especially in the first leg at Stadion Letzigrund.
He said: “You would imagine so. They have a lot of quality and they will keep the ball. They are proper, proper athletes. It’s about keeping it alive and being highly structured.
“I’m sure we’ll have to defend in large parts, but it’s what we do well.”
