How do you know about?

Well, it's about political reasons.

In Israel, three names are very frequent for sport clubs: Hapoel, Maccabi and Beitar.

Hapoel means "worker"; these clubs are traditionally near to the Labour Unions and the Labour Party. Maccabi is usually assigned to the liberal right, and Beitar to the far right religious extremists.

Keita is able to score 20 - 30 goals per year, plus 20 assists. He is one of the fastest player in Switzerland, he can make the diffrence. I'd prefer to see him score for FC Zürich than to let him go. But, he seems to be unhappy in our team, I have no clue why. It's a pity.

Close flo, but not correct, anyway, hapoel, maccabi and beitar r just names of the union sports but they belongs to buisness man and not connected to political bodies.
Hapoel tel aviv is one of the top clubs in israel, the las session was worst but until this session they play in uefa tournament every year, the highlight of the club was in 2001 session when they get to quater final of uefa cup- on the way we win chealse, parma, lokomotive and milan.

Thanks for the iofo, friends.

I know, four business men have bought the club in 1997. But before, it was financially supported by the trade unions. That fact does naturally bring a connection that survives the decades.

The history of a football club is an important part of it. For example, many decades ago, the Grasshopper Club Zürich, our local rival, forbade the jews to become a member of it. Still today, no single jew in Zurich would even think about supporting the Grasshoppers, although the mentioned rule has been abolished many decades ago.
