Daily Mirror:
Tottenham endured a nightmare start to their Champions League qualifier with Young Boys but finished strongly to set up a finely-balanced return leg at White Hart Lane. But what did we learn, asks Dan Silver?
1) Young Boys need the money more than Tottenham did
Did you see the Swiss side's kit? Hopefully if they qualify for the group stages they'll have enough money to finish off the design.
2) Harry should have started with Peter Crouch
After all, he's had no problem scoring away from home in Europe recently.
3) There was only one man more relieved by Pav's late goal than than Tottenham fans
And that's the fella at Investec who signed the deal to be the club's cup shirt sponsors. We're not sure a lengthy Carling Cup run was what they had in mind.
4) Harry had a point about Craig Bellamy
After losing the Welshman to Cardiff, Redknapp moaned that 'it would be a waste of an outstanding player' if Bellamy went to the Championship. Indeed - on this evidence he should ply his trade in the far superior Swiss league instead.
5) Champions League goals are like buses
Tottenham fans had been waiting nigh on 50 years for a Champions League (nee European Cup) goal - and then three came along in 30 minutes.
6) It was nice of the Spurs defence to indulge in some local traditions
There were more holes in Tottenham's rearguard than a slab of Swiss cheese. And if Michael Dawson is the future of England's backline then let's hope we never play a side with a pacy forward...
7) There was something inevitable about Tottenham's comeback
After all, Young Boys rarely keep clean sheets...
8) Young Boys' loss is the luxury travel industry's gain
Apparently Thomas Cook were on the brink of issuing a profit warning as scores of agents across Europe with expensive foreign holidays already booked suddenly realised they might not be getting Harry Redknapp's Champions League cash
9) The tie's not over yet
Harry Redknapp always wanted a big job - and now he's got one: trying to get Spurs into the Champions League group stage. Still, at least that late goal means they won't have a (Swiss) mountain to climb in the second leg.
10) There is one cast iron way that Spurs can ensure they win the home leg easily
All they have to do is move the kick-off time to 10pm, when it's well past the Young Boys' bedtime.
